About

Meet Our Executive Chef

James Montoya

James Montoya embarked on his culinary journey in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, where he honed his skills at The Highland Tavern. Over the course of five transformative years in their esteemed “scratch kitchen,” James cultivated a profound mastery of his craft. This dedication led him to assume the role of Head Chef at The Emporium in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where he elevated local dining before the restaurant’s closure in 2018.

Undeterred, James channeled his passion for gastronomy into The Tangled Tumbleweed, a distinguished tapas-style establishment in Scottsbluff. Here, he delighted in the artistry of creating exquisite dishes that captivate and inspire his patrons, embodying his relentless commitment to culinary excellence.

“My goal is to make dishes that bring out more than just eating… I love creating an experience for our guests.”

Upscale, Casual Dining

with a touch of history

The Fox Hole is located in beautiful downtown Orange City, Iowa and is rooted in the historic Cambier Motor Company building. As the owners of The Fox Hole looked for the perfect place, in Orange City, to provide amazing food and atmosphere, the “old” Cambier Motor Company building was identified as the perfect location. Shortly after identifying the location, renovation began on the building that was first erected in 1919.

Though now it is hard to believe that the building was once the largest vehicle dealership in the Northwest, history was not forgotten. Renovation was completed in 2024, with a concentration on leaving in place a perfect touch of the building’s history. The Fox Hole is now Orange City’s premier dining destination for an upscale, casual experience. All are invited to enjoy great classic American food (and Dutch food influenced specials) while taking comfort in Orange City history.
